Simple Eats: Nav

11 Jan

Another restaurant in the Kapitolyo area that’s worth trekking to Kapitolyo is NAV. Nav is a modern Thai restaurant. People who know me know that I love Thai food. I love going to Thailand and exploring the food and restaurants that are available there. I’ll be going to Thailand this February so watch out for our food and travel finds. 🙂

Back to Nav! The ambiance of restaurant is simple yet elegant. The place can comfortably sit 50 people, at most. From the front, you wouldn’t expect that it can seat as much as 20. Anyhow, here are pictures of the restaurant –

ON THE TABLE

Shrimp Rolls, Home-made Sweet Chili (PHP250.00)

I initially wanted to order their crab cakes but ended up with their shrimp rolls as it was out of stock. I didn’t notice the difference of their home-made chilis as it tasted like the typical chili in the bottle. I loved the shrimp rolls though. It was tasty and packed with noodles, spring onions and shrimps inside.

Tom Yum Goong (PHP270.00)

What’s eating in a Thai restaurant without Tom Yum Goong? I love the spiciness of their version. It had the right amount of spice and sweetness to it. There were bits of prawns in it but mostly what I got were shrimp heads.

Red Curry Pork and Eggplants (PHP255.00)

A bit expensive for the amount of pork and eggplants we got. The eggplants were not as soggy or soft as I would have wanted. The skin was a bit tough. The sauce though could make you eat more rice than you’d want to. I like the curry taste. It wasn’t overwhelming.

Nav’s Pad Thai (PHP280.00)

There’s a generous serving of noodles in their Pad Thai. This would be good for 3-4 people. Still on the pricy side but taste is really good.

We didn’t get to try their desserts anymore as we were really full. Over-all, the ambiance of the restaurant is great. Not much parking though so we parked at Pioneer supermarket and walked to the restaurant. The food is delicious though servings could be bigger for the price.
