Simple Travels: Thailand Day 2

09 Feb

I woke up thinking I missed the bus. The itinerary stated 720AM and I woke up at 708AM. Quickly showered and was at the lobby by 730AM. Turned out the bus would be leaving at 1000AM instead. The program would be starting at 2PM and the group decided that we’d go later than sooner. We weren’t informed the night before.

So, I had time for a hearty breakfast on the F floor overlooking the wonderfully manicured lawn and tennis court. This is the view from my room –

The sun bed looks really enticing!

We arrived at the convention center. Since we were pre-registered, everything took no more than 30 minutes. So, what to do with more than 3hours to spare? Picture taking –

We decided to have a quick lunch at the food court area. We were handed out an allowance of B300 for 3 days. Had a nice noodle soup with beef.

This is another good find by Denley – Roti (tasted more like crepe to me! The condensed milk made all the difference)

The door opened at around 145PM and everyone rushed to find their seats. The conference was opened by a presentation by the Exotic Percussions, the winner of Thailand’s Got Talent.

Philippines had the 3rd most number of representative to the conference next to Indonesia and the host country, Thailand

The first speaker was Solomon Hicks whose topic was “The Secret Life of a #1 Salesman.” Sol Hicks is 68years old, has been in the insurance industry for 40years, with an average case size of USD$5M and average commission of USD$50K. He shared that passion, tenacity and perseverance are the keys t success.

The 2nd speaker was Regina Bedoya who shared that we must all live the life we want as we are not immortals. Time is precious and is our single most important commodity.

Keith Abraham was the last speaker for the day. I’ve heard him speak in one of the APLIC sessions and he always had good practical advice and tips in selling. This time he discussed 3 points – how to have clarity of direction, how to create the best year yet and how to live by example. His theme is how to design and live the life we want to live.

After the conference, we were treated to dinner by Prulife at the Somboon Restaurant, a popular Thailand seafood place.
