June Instagram Dump

Wow! We’re half way through 2013 already! Amazing how time flies! June was a month of first. Warren got to travel abroad for the first time and that definitely led to a lot of firsts for him. Compiled a few of my Instagram pictures for June.

1. Simple Travel: Hongkong
Spent the first weekend of June in Hongkong Disneyland with Warren. This was our first family trip abroad. First train ride. First bus ride. First roller coaster ride. A lot of first for Warren. He enjoyed the trip tremendously and the moments were definitely priceless.

2. Prulife: May was a spectacular month for our unit. We hit the company’s all time monthly high. Our unit was the company’s top unit for the month and for that month, we were the overall top unit. As such, our branch broke our previously set record which we celebrated with a sumptuous lunch at Romulo’s.

3. Simple Eats: Currently crushing on Wildflour which opened another branch in Podium. Love their version of pizzas which has a thin base of pastry crust. Their bone marrow dish is also sinfully delicious. The fattiness is nicely balanced by mixing it on bread and topping with salsa. A bit on the expensive side though. Be prepared to pay at least Php1000 per person for a combination of appetizer, main dish and drinks (coffee or their own drink list is a must try!).

4. Business: We participated in our nth Graphics Expo held at SMX Trade Hall. 3 days of marketing our marketing materials and machines.

5. Wedding: What better way to end the month with a wedding by one of my best friends. Best wishes again Ra and Raffy!

Excited for what July will bring! How has your first half of 2013 been so far?

The Week in Review

I can’t believe it! It’s already May! 4 months have gone in 2013. I’ve been hustling and bustling month after month which explains the lack of more frequent posts. I still haven’t written about our Japan trip and here comes our Mediterranean Cruise trip which I still have to blog about. Anyhow, it’s 935PM now and I’m still on the road on my way home. Thank God for my Smart Mobile Wifi stick. Thought I’d do a picture dump of what I’ve been doing since May 1.

1. Kindermusik Festival
I’ve enrolled Warren in Kindermusik to hopefully encourage him to start talking but more so that he gets to interact with other kids also. Its been great so far. Teacher Jeannie and company have been so hands-on with each kid. Last May 1, they did a big celebration for all their students. The event was held at The Glass Garden. We participated as a group for Prulife and also participated as an attendee with Warren.

Spending quality time with Warren ... Priceless! Nice stay-cation #milestone #warren #simplelife

2. Baba’s Birthday
Last weekend, we attended Baba’s birthday party. It was the kiddo’s first time to eat Chicken Joy.

3. Wildflour Cafe
Have tried taking out their pastries but haven’t really eaten at this Cafe. Found that their Podium branch just opened and we decided to give it a try. Loved their Bacon Torte (Pizza with pastry crust). Their Parmesan churros was interesting.

4. The Shanghai Sharks
Yao Ming’s team was in Manila and played The Smart Gilas and The PBA All Star Team. We got to watch the PBA All Star game live. Since the Sharks had a courtesy lunch sponsored by the mayor of Quezon City at Quezon City Sports Club, the Kiddo got to meet the whole team in person and up close. Thought he kinda upstaged the players that morning.

Nice way to end the day by watching the PBA All Stars vs Shanghai Sharks

5. TWG
Lunch today was at TWG. Tried their Roasted Apricot Cod and Creme Brulee Tea. Good 1.5 hours of ME time which has been lacking for some time now.
Dining alone has its perks. Roasted Apricot Cod ...

Warren Update: 1st Quarter of 2013

Thought I’d share a few pictures of Warren. He’s growing up pretty fast! Still isn’t talking yet though he does run pretty fast already. We were becoming worried when he wasn’t walking when he turned a year old. He eventually did come around to it and has since been hard to catch and keep him steady in one place.
He enjoys watching Barney and Backyardigans
At daddy’s office
Cheering for daddy
Getting ready for his first day of Kindermusik class. Yes! Enrolled him with the hopes that he’ll start talking and to have him interact with kids his age.
Enjoying the wagon ride with new found friends
Bubbles everywhere, bubbles everywhere
One of Warren’s Food Favorites: Bread
Strolling around BGC with dad. Both my boys in red shorts.
Finally, a picture of me and Warren.

Enjoy the pictures!

Simply Life: 13 by 2013 Goals

So, what’s up with your 13 by 2013 goals? Since writing down mine, I’ve slowly been trying to accomplish them throughout the year. Simply looking at them and seeing them uncrossed makes you want to just simply DO it. From 13 of my goals, I’ve so far achieved 6 and a half and working on a few more before the year ends.

Looking back, health has somewhat been the least priority having not lost the desired 25 lbs. I’m happy to report though that I’ve lost 10 lbs and hopefully when I start to exercise next week as the year winds down, I’ll be able to add 2 – 3 lbs more to the amount lost. I’ve participated in 4 runs only this year. Boo! As a result, I didn’t have the stamina to run a 21km let alone finish it in 3 hours. Lets move these 3 goals to next year!

With all the flurries of 2012, I wasn’t able to find time to attend a cooking class. I managed to bake only 4 cakes though I think I’d still be able to finish the 8 before the year ends. Lets see!

Next year will definitely be a fun year of traveling having qualified to the Mediterranean Cruise. France, Spain and Italy here we go! Working on getting hubby onto the FREE trip as well. This year was a good traveling year as well having gone to 7 countries with 2 of those FREE courtesy of Prulife. Would have wanted to go to more countries for FREE but alas though I qualified, the timing was just not right. We were bound for another trip and hence, had to encash the trips.

Next year’s goals will be bigger and grander! Uncrossed goals will be moved as part of list still to be accomplished for next year.

How’s your list so far? Have you crossed out any of them? Which one did you like the best?

Simple Eats: Mogu in BGC

Sorry, I’ve been MIA for a few weeks now. The past few weeks have been hectic starting off with the various bazaars that we’ve been joining and that I’ve organized. Will post more about that soon. Anyhow, last week, we managed to sneak in a day off from the bazaar selling and took Warren to Bonifacio Global for some leisure time. Despite coming from Japan, my MIL was still craving for some Chirashidon so we decided to give Mogu a try. Mogu did not disappoint. Mogu serves the freshest ingredients in relatively good portion sizes. I’ve been on South Beach hiatus last week though I still shy away as much as possible from rice. Warren though loved the rice so much that he ate quite a lot of it. We mixed the rice with a little of the Harami sauce. More of that later.

Simple Japanese furnishings. This is a no frills Japanese restaurant at the heart of Bonifacio Global Center.

Mogu means bite and shinshen means fresh. Both words that define the concept of this Japanese restaurant.

Spicy Tuna Sushi

Uni Sushi
Milky, fresh and oh so yummy!

Chirashi Don
This is what we came here for and this didn’t disappoint.

Stuffed Squid
Stuffed with tofu and mushrooms, this was a surprisingly good dish. Warren also got to enjoy the stuffings.

This is one of the restaurant’s specialties, prime steak mixed in their special Mogu sauce with Edamame rice. Warren loved the rice and ate quite a bunch along with the Mogu sauce. This is a must try!

Spicy Chicken Cheese Katsu
Didn’t get to try this but by the looks of what’s left, this seems to be a winner as well.

Warren and the Restaurant
Warren loved the food in this restaurant as evidenced by how much food he ate.

Growing up pretty fast, huh?

Warren Update: Warren and the Alphabet Caterpillar

Does your child have a favorite toy? Warren has had this Alphabet Caterpillar for quite some time already but took a liking to it again when we attached an extra straw rope to lengthen it and allow him to drag it around the house. When he drags it, this toy then sings the Alphabet song.

Warren Update: Our Little House Helper

Since starting to walk on his own, he’s been testing out the waters by balancing with stuff on both his hands. This morning, I decided to stay home and spend more time with him. This is what I saw my little boy doing – imitating Yaya.

And get this, he didn’t want me getting the dust pan from him. When he grew tired walking around, he sat down and still refused to let go of the items in his hand.

Isn’t he such a cutie?
